Mondays Memories

These past couple of weeks have been really fun!
ARIZONA
12 days ago Brian and I left for a quick weekend in Arizona! He had some classes there and I got to go along. We were only there for 2 1/2 days but it was SUPER relaxing and FUN! Brian went to classes and I exercised and read and watched movies and did a little shopping. We did sit by the pool once or twice also. Every break Brian had we went to Paradise Bakery and got coconut chocolate chip cookies!
TWILIGHT
You know when we say," I need a vacation from my vacation".
Well, THAT is JUST what happened to me! IT was AWESOME! Brian and I got home Saturday night and the kids were off school for THANKSGIVING break! SO,Tuesday NIGHT about 10:00 my girls asked if we could go to the 10:30 show of "Twilight".
we called my friend Lisa and told her we were on our way to pick her up for the movie!
I LOVED it! My girls thought it was "cheesy and bad acting". But none the less, we all had a really great time! (Getting home at 1am!)
THANKSGIVING
Our friends, the Ellis family, (we met them when we lived in San Antonio, TX. They now live in Utah.) They came on Wed night to spend Thanksgiving weekend with us. They have 6 kids. 15 of us in this house for 3 days and four nights was A LOT of FUN! Not much sleeping went on though, I must say!
I obviously was too preoccupied with WAY too many other things to think about getting pictures taken and I am SOOO bummed! We had Thanksgiving dinner here. 27 people. 3 large tables. An adult table, a teenage table and a kids table. Everyone had an age that matched up and I think everyone had fun!
CHIRSTMAS TREE
So, the Saturday after Thanksgiving its tradition for our family to go cut our Christmas tree.
The Ellis' were here so they just went with us. WELL, they could NOT believe how cheap a 12 foot Noble tree was and so they just HAD to get one themselves to tie on the car and take home to Utah! They actually got TWO! Lynettes sister Lara moved from here to Utah a couple of years ago and she needed an OREGON Christmas tree also!
I LOVED the idea of having a 12 foot tree because they are beautiful and I've never had a 12 foot tree! WHERE do you put a 12 foot tree in MY house?
I REALLY wanted one. So, we figured it out!

We moved out the KITCHEN table and put it in the Kitchen! I LOVE it!
Lynette said she had a GREAT way of doing lights. I knew I would need a few more strands than I usually used for my 6 foot trees. So, we went and bought a few more ligths. Lynette spent 2 hours putting lights on and ran out so we sent the teenagers to get more. Lynette spent another hour or two putting on lights and we ran out! I had to get more today to finish the job! WOW this tree has A LOT of lights!
Brian said he's NOT taking them off! After Christmas the WHOLE thing goes out!

I've always wanted a tree with a million lights! Now I have it! (Seriously, about 2,500 or more!) THANKS Lynette! I hope you love your tree as much as I love mine!

That is usually how I put the lights on too. Needless to say my tree is not up yet... I'm dreading the lights, and Kris is not a big help when it comes to putting the lights on! It looks amazing! I loved Twilight as well, It was kind of cheese, but loved it the same!

YAHOO! You are back to blogging! I am in love with your tree! Seriously! I love it there with the red kitchen wall behind it! Could it look any more festive will a gazillion lights on it with a red backdrop? What a great service from Lynette!
We had SO much fun with you guys on Thanksgiving! Storytime was extra fun too! TWILIGHT - well, gotta love those last minute escapes! Thanks for the invite.
....ps - what is up with the tree guys and his pledge or prayer in the photo? And what's up with his PANTS? Made me laugh out loud!

I love your huge tree. Where did you put your kitchen table? It does look fabulous against your red walls. I too was wondering about that tree guy pledging or something. How funny. We haven't ever gotten a live tree, but I want to sometime. So fun that you did it with another family too.

Did your girls read the Twilight Books? I liked the movie. I thought they did a great job, much better then I expected anyway.

Yowza! You guys are busy! I love the tree. I used to spend so much time putting lights on but I gave up on that and now I spend less time and put on half the lights. This year we got 3 trees though so I guess I'm doing the same amount of lights just spread out more! I can't wait to see you guys!
